A new Core Skills Occupation List (CSOL) has been announced by the Australian Government and fulfils the Government’s commitment to replace complex, out of date and inflexible occupation lists in the current temporary skilled visa program.
The new CSOL will be a single consolidated list which will apply to the new Skills in Demand visa set to come into effect on 07 December 2024. The new CSOL will also apply to the Direct Entry stream of the permanent Employer Nomination Scheme (subclass 186) visa.
Notable occupations that were previously either unavailable or available in limited locations added to the list include:
- Child-care worker
- Out of School Hours Caree Worker
- Vehicle Trimmer
- Vehicle Painter
- Vehicle Body Builder
- Content Creator (Marketing)
- Tour Guide
- Travel Agent
- Flight Attendant
- Martial Arts Coach or Yoga Instructor
Many occupations previously unavailable for the subclass 186 DE pathway such as Cook, Pastrycook, Hairdresser, Marketing Specialist to name a few are now all available for direct pathway to PR.
More details will be announced on the new subclass 482 SID program shortly.
